Richard is well prepared to represent H. Pearce Company in central Connecticut, having spent his entire 20-year real estate career as a specialist in that market. His New Haven-based company, BGI Commercial Realty, was one of the pre-eminent boutique real estate firms in the region prior to Richard’s decision to join a national firm in the summer of 2001. In addition to directing BGI Commercial Realty’s local commercial and investment portfolio he also oversaw the acquisition and disposition of commercial and development properties in Connecticut, New York, Georgia and Florida. Richard has provided tenant representation services and participated in transactions with many of the region’s most well-known companies including Sarah, Inc., Advanced Research & Robotics, Chabaso Bakery, Branford Hall Institute, Benjamin Moore, Libby’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Trailblazers, Inc.
In addition to invigorating H. Pearce Company’s overall efforts in central Connecticut, Richard further enhances its commitment to servicing the medical, biotechnology, life sciences and pharmaceutical industries – a sector that has seen particularly strong growth over the past several years, especially in New Haven and Hartford Counties. Recent clients have included Clinical Data, Inc., GigaCyte, LLC, Beta Pharma, Inc., Saint Raphael Healthcare Systems, Fresenius Medical Care North America, Griffin Hospital, Quest Diagnostics, and Medtronic, Inc.
Richard is active in the Connecticut chapter of CCIM, and was Chapter President in the year 2000. He then served as CCIM Institute’s Regional Vice President for the New England/New York region. Richard also acts as Co-Chair for the Connecticut/Westchester Chapter of CoreNet Global (national association of corporate real estate executives) and is currently serving on the New Haven Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors and Executive Committees.
Richard earned a bachelor’s degree from Colgate University and a master’s from Colgate Rochester.
