Mr. Pearce was recognized for his outstanding achievements and generous philanthropy, by Quinnipiac University at its annual "Business Leader Hall of Fame 2007" dinner. Mr. Pearce is the Founder and Chairman of H. Pearce Company Realtors. The Town of North Haven added to the festivities by presenting Mr. Pearce with a sign to re-name the Universal Drive bridge. "The Herbert H. Pearce & Donald B. Lippincott Commemorative Bridge". Ultimately, it was the vision of these two entrepreneurs that led to the economic development at this site. Mr. Kopetz presented Mr. Lippincott with a similar sigh at a later time.

Quinnipiac University recognized Herb Pearce for his outstanding achievements and generous philanthropy at its 2007 Business Leader Hall of Fame dinner. Pearce and his partner, Donald B. Lippincott, were the driving force behind the development of the retail facilities on Universal Drive. The town of North Haven added to Quinnipiac's banquet by presenting Pearce with a sign renaming the Universal Drive bridge to the Herbert H. Pearce & Donald B. Lippincott Commemorative Bridge. Kopetz presented Lippincott with a similar sign at a later time.
